About us
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Beneficial
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu. Peace and blessings of Allah (SWT) be upon you all.
Welcome to Aaila Magazine. It is the result of several months of hard work and the realisation of the dreams of our team. This parenting magazine is based on the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our Last Messenger Muhammad (SAW) and aims to combine this with more secular parenting issues. We want to be able to provide practical advice on how to implement the Qur'an and Sunnah as well as on other matters pertaining to parenting. Through this magazine, we would like to help each other to become better parents Insha-Allah.
We aim to publish new articles on the first Friday of every other month, Inshallah and so will leave existing articles on the site for a month, after which they will be moved to an archived section. We are continually seeking people to write for us on a regular or ad-hoc basis, and so feel free to get in touch with us (see addresses on the ‘Contact us’ section above) with your articles and ideas.
We would also encourage those of you who want to regularly visit this site, to take a few minutes to sign up as registered members of the site. This way, we can update you on changes to the website and when new articles have been published. Send your name to admin@aaila.org
The main menu contains articles on parenting that have been grouped into categories. There are also sections on practical things like creative arts (writing and making things), as well as general lifestyle tips from fashion to recipes. There is also a section on education with articles and tips from fellow parents.
The resources menu (along the top) contains our islamic references sub-menu which we hope will be very useful to readers. It will contain ayahs of Quran and hadith pertaining to parenting, as well as duas for parents and muslim names, Inshallah.
We are a small team of people who want to provide practical advice to our readers as well as providing where we can, the islamic perspective on various parenting issues. As a group of parents, we want to be able to show that Islam does provide us with instructions on how to raise our children and solutions to many of the problems that we see around us today in society. All too often we buy books and watch programmes on the latest studies on child-rearing but the best advice is actually closer and now, increasingly more accessible to us than ever before - Quran & Sunnah.
We do not claim to be scholars or perfect muslims ourselves, and so we do not propose to propagate any particular school of thought or ideas. We will simply present articles that are supported by the Quran and sunnah and will provide the relevant references, as well as information on our various pregnancy and parenting topics, again supported by the relevant authorities on these matters.
We have managed to create this website with the help of Allah and your duas. We would also like to thank the brothers and sisters who have worked hard and enthusiastically to make this website a reality. We would like all brothers and sisters to continue to support us and feel free to provide comments in order to make this a better site for you.
